5 years ago Orchard skate shop opened its doors on Mission Hill in Boston Ma. The store stayed strong and grew to a bigger location on the other side of town now in the heart of Allston on Harvard Ave. Through a lot of hard work and dedication it managed to keeps its doors open for 5 years. That’s saying a lot based on the current trends of online distributors and large chain mall shops slowly taking over the skateboard market. With many of the areas skate shops depending on sales of snowboards, bikes, and an unfortunate increase in longboard sales, Orchard has stayed true to its roots and held down the Boston skate scene for a long time.
To celebrate this event Orchard rented out Subliminal skate park in Shrewsbury Ma and held a little party for 100 of their closest friends. People were having fun and throwing down big tricks, all in all it was a total success and we all look forward to it again next year. Here’s some sequences from the night, be on the look out for a montage with all the footage sometime soon.
Also look out for Orchard’s miniramp contest coming February 20th. Flyer is at the bottom.
